Thursday the 1st of July
Exams are over at last and so I have no excuse not to update the blog. I apoligise for how long it's taken and now we're in summer and I'm doing nothing for a large amount of time I cna hopefully update more
I want to talk mainly about the prom but before I do....
THINGS THAT HAVE HAPPENED RECENTLY
1.Arsenal win the Premiership unbeaten - I actually cry when we lift up the cup. Going 38 games up and down the country unbeaten is incredible, and we even parked the coach in Liverpool twice without anything being nicked.
2.EURO 2004 - Closely linked - One of the best tournaments for a while with England being screwed out by Urs Meier a Swiss ref. Bearing in mind England had beat Switzerland 3-0, quite why we had a Swiss ref I do not know.
At 1-1 Sol Campbell scores and it is disallowed. This completly Pi$$e$ me off because
1.He's an Arsenal player
2.He's in my Euro 2004 dream team
3.The ref was in a poor position despite suposedly being world class
4. Exactly the same thing happened in France 98 when Campbell scored and it was disallowed. God knows what that did to him, he's probably traumatised for life.
Now everyone is human and I can accept mistakes are made and if he had said afterwards "Ive ballsed up" I'd have respect for that.
Instead Urs said
"I made the right decision. I'm sure when the English look at it again with a lager, they will see I was right"
Yeah, not being rude Urs but where me and Kate were in Chicago Rock, there were a lot of people looking at what you did with lagers and they weren't too happy
If you feel you'd like to express these views to Urs, go nuts

3.Final Assembly- A final sketch from me and Luke after a good ten years of sketches together and I think this one was the best yet. Thanks to Blowers for helping us organise it. We only had 20 mins to plan it and reherse it but we pulled it off. Again thanks to everyone who was chanting my name and clapping, that was just a really amazing atmosphere and one I wont forget. I want to try and get it on video. I know it was recorded and people have asked me so I will do my best.
Then we had the awards which were a really good idea. The problem was that some of them were slightly dodgy, but only because we didnt have enough time to vote so this is no critiscm of Sam or Bexs!
Best charity worker - Luke does red cross for free every week. I raised £150 + for children in need over two years by organising football games Vs the staff.
Amy Degville has raised a few quid so she can go to Australia and she wins it. No justice.
The inseperable two - How did Grist and Hutch in this over Belinda and Rach I will never know. Rachel was in the Senior student team more often the most of our official members. I mean she went to parent evenings just so she was with Belinda. I really think they will both have a panic attack and die when they have to seperate for uni.
But most of them were spot on and it was quality assembly. Had we had it on our last Friday it would have been a bit more special but exams stopped that.
4.I have a girlfriend! - Really this should have come before the football.. but I think she understands. Anyway I got lucky enough to find someone who can tolerate my abnormal sense of humour which s a first really. The good looks, personality and intelligence were just a bonus so thank you Kate :P xxx
Which brings me onto the prom. Now the last two in Cumberwell were naff to say the least. In year 11 I just think I was too young really to appreciate it, and in Year 12 it was hard to appreciate it when your ex is trying to get with all your mates in front of you to get back at you.
However this year was different.Firstly we were getting there by limo which was a first for me. In my opinion although expensive 20 quid well spent and a big thanks to Neil who organised it. Within days he was able to get 14 people and have them all pay up for the biggest limo in certainly the UK and poss Europe (I think)
In comparison Rachel Stokes attempted to do the same thing and basically ordered a limo which looked like my espace and was probably slower. And wanted people to pay to go in it. Luckily for them Nick found a decent enough limo (although not as good as ours) for cheaper.
Booking a limo - Clearly a mans job. Looking like a man doesn't qualify you for it!
So now I have someone to take, I clearly have a bit of pressure on me to look good and maybe less of a lad. This was made clear to be when I suggested I could wear an Arsenal tie and got such a glare for 10 seconds for Kate I was on the verge of tears.
So I trundled into Bath to buy a suit. I walk into Burtons (standard) and start to browse when a man about 60 years old, looking like David Dickenson but white instead of orange comes up to me
Him > (In the most camp voice EVER) Do you like what you see sir?
Me> (Not sure if he means the suit or himself) "Um.. yeah but I need a 38 long jacket"
Him>"Ah now what you've done there, what you've done is you've found our longest jacket avaliable. Now that should fit"
Me> "Oh ok, well do you have a 34 trouser then?"
Him>"Let me have a look,Yes we do,yes we do"
Me>(worried that he's getting too excited) " Ok cool"
Him> "Whats the suit for anyway"
Me>"Oh our 6th form ball"
Him>"Reeeeeeally, well there's three ways you can wear this suit!"
Me> (Confused) "Oh"
Him> "You can wear it with shirt and tie for a ball, you can wear it with a casual shirt just for evening wear, AND you can wear it (voice lowers) with just a white cotton tshirt"
Me (Really worried by now) "And I'll look ok in that will I"
Him (Looking at me again, smiles) "You'll look ... cool"
So Prom days arrives and I'm all suited up and for once looking pretty respectable. The limo turns up at Neils and she was beautiful. However only complaint was the C changing which really winds me up.
We get there by now slightly tipsy on the champange in the limo and Kate's already there, looking absolutely amazing with her hair done and a great dress and BLATENTLY if we weren't going out, we'd still have eneded up with each other during the night ;P
And the prom was really nice, there was great view outside where we were just able to chat and take photos and I got to realise how much I was going to miss everyone.
But it was ruined when the DJ announced on the microphone
"Right thats it,we're not playing anything else now. You were warned to grow up and you haven't"
Sounding just like my mum. Soon we were told the following had happened
Destroying a meal which had been prepared for thursday
flooding the male toilets
causing large amounts of damage to furniture within the building
So we were then all sat in the main room chatting while all the staff started to panic over this. Luke and co were not happy and I dont blame them. Gristy looked like he wanted to solve the mystery himself but he never had time to start interviewing people as 10 mins later
"Right can all the 6th formers now please leave the premises"
"Imediately"
The DJ was now nearly in tears. He was probably being paid by the hour and realised he'd lose about a tenner from prom being cut early.
So we are now all thrown outside where it is freezing. Being the gentleman I am I give Kate my jacket and then hug her to try and keep myself warm (I shouldn't really put that as she'll feel bad) Neil is able to get the limo ready luckily and after Kates been picked up successfully we drive off with a sombre atmosphere in the limo.
Grist,Ali,Nath Holz,Luke and myself get dropped off in town to visit Kal and get a lift home with "Boss" who seemed keen to show us that his car can go 120 mph in gear 4 which was quite a delight.
Overall the prom was a success, aside from that incident. I was lucky enough to be able to take someone I really like and it was a quality night out so thanks all you guys.
